YAMAGATA — Satō Hinata (26/07/2010)

THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL TRANSLATION - PLEASE SEE THE ORIGINAL DIARY POST HERE

Long time no see. It's Hinata!!
On the weekend, I visited Yamagata with my family.
We got slowly refreshed in Zaō Onsen. 1
The food was also really delicious. 💕
Everyone, do you know cold ramen?? 2
It is very popular in Yamagata!!
Afterwards, we had cherry ball konjac.🍒 3
I also ate yubeshi with walnuts and mochi. 4
Ah, I'm talking about nothing but food. (Lol) !!!
However, I really wanted to recommend all these foods.
It was Hinata.
See you! 💗

Notes

1- Zaō Onsen is a spa on the outskirts of the city of Yamagata. It takes its name from the local highest mountain, Mount Zaō. More
2- "Hiyashi" ramen is often translated as cold ramen, other times as chilled ramen. I think the latter is more accurate after looking up some recipes, but it doesn't really matter as you get the message anyways. Photo
3- This one took some research. I concluded that this is the thing she means and also found out in Yamagata's tourist areas these are sold on the street like hot dogs in America. Konjac itself appears to be something well.. I can't imagine the taste of it.
4- See more about yubeshi here and about mochi here. Especially the latter is quite common.
